STATEWIDE DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION
Official Election Information Mailed to Voters

Today, the Sacramento County Department of Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) announced that the first official postcard containing critical information about the upcoming June 2018 Primary Election was mailed to more than 760,000 Sacramento County residents.

With the passage of the California Voters Choice Act (VCA), VRE is offering Sacramento County residents more opportunities for voting. Beginning the week of May 7, 2018, every registered voter will be mailed their official ballot and official ballot return envelope, along with a list of all the Vote Center and Ballot Drop Box locations.

Voters can return their voted ballot by mail; in any of VRE’s 52 Vote by Mail (VBM) Ballot Drop Boxes; or at one of the new Vote Centers.

Instead of traditional polling places, Vote Centers will be established and serve as universal polling places that offer expanded services and will be located throughout the County.
  • 78 Vote Centers are open June 2 through June 5, 2018
  • 16 of these Vote Centers open earlier beginning May 26 through June 5, 2018
  • Any voter can vote at any Vote Center in the County – you pick where you want to vote
  • Vote Centers offer in-person voting, replacement VBM ballots, accessible voting devices, registration forms, and assistance in alternate languages
Vote Centers and Drop Box locations are available on VRE’s website and will be in the Voter Information Guide mailed in May. Residents are encouraged to complete a new registration form if their name, address, or signature has changed by visiting www.registertovote.ca.gov/. Additional information on the VCA can be found online at www.elections.saccounty.net.
