Presidential Primary Election Update

Manual Tally of Ballots Ensure Accuracy

Public and media invited to observe precinct selection

On Monday, June 6, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Sacramento County Registrar of Voters Jill LaVine will select the precincts to be included in the 1% manual tally for the June 7 Presidential Primary Election. The manual tally is required by California law.

“For this election, it means all ballots cast in 13 of the County’s precincts will be manually tallied to ensure the accuracy of the automated tally before certifying election results, and for each race not included in the 1% manual tally, an additional precinct with that contest is tallied” said LaVine.

The Manual Tally, once drawn, will begin the first Wednesday following the election.

Contact Alice Jarboe at 875-6255 or email Jarboea@saccounty.net if interested in observing the manual tally selection process.
