The Secretary of State recently announced that some electronic voting systems are decertified with a conditional re-approval that will require additional security measures to be used in the 2008 elections. There has been considerable confusion as to how this would impact voters in Sacramento. Sacramento County uses an optical scan voting system that is not affected by the Secretary of State’s decision at this time. We remain confident that your vote is counted accurately and reliably. For further information on the systems that were decertified, you may view the Secretary of State’s website.
