What to Expect – You will be issued a ballot and return envelope. You may choose to vote your ballot in the office and drop it in our secure ballot box, take your ballot home with you and return it by mail, or drop it off at any polling place in Sacramento County on Election Day. Your ballot envelope must be signed and your ballot must be returned to the Voter Registration and Elections Office. A new law allows Vote by Mail ballots to be accepted if they are POSTMARKED on or before Election Day and delivered to the Elections Office by the USPS or "other mail" carrier no later than three days after the Election.
Authorized Ballot Pick-up - Beginning 29 days prior to every election, a registered voter may authorize, in writing, a Vote by Mail ballot to be delivered by his or her spouse, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild, or sibling, or a person residing in the same household as the voter, who is 16 years of age or older.
